The Free Software Club of Kirksville will be hosting its first Unconference on Saturday, December 1, 2007. The event will run from approximately 10am until 3pm and will take place in Violette Hall 1200.
An Unconference (also called a BarCamp), is a conference that has a very flexible structure. The idea is that anyone is invited to attend and even encouraged to present on some topic of interest to them. The general theme for the first FSCK Unconference is undoubtedly techy. Presentations might include updates on research, cool tech toys, hands-on workshops, or just about anything. Because this is the first event like this that we have hosted, we please ask that anyone who wants to participate to sign up ahead of the event.
Possible talks already on the agenda include:
If you are interested in giving a quick talk please contact Jason Novinger or Adam Gouge. We are actively looking people who are interested in participating. The more that show up and talk, the longer the event will last.
In addition, member of FSCK will be in attendance and can help answer questions about free software in general or help with installation issues.
Of course, as with most public FSCK events, there will be free pizza and soda served for lunch.
